Leonard Ray Meade

Leonard Ray Meade, 65 of Whitman, WV departed this life on October 24, 2023 at his residence.

He was born August 10, 1958 in Holden, WV the son of the late William “Bill” and Mary Jane McCloud Meade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia McCloud Ellis and baby Gracie; brother-in-laws, Jerry Ellis “Bubbles”, Greg White, and Tim Lowe; and nephews, Dwayne Ellis and Jason Ellis.

Lenard was a lineman for 30 years, his favorite past time was hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Yvonne Evans Meade; three sons, Leonard R. Meade Jr., Christopher Lee Meade, and James Meade; two daughter-in-laws, Alexis Meade and Kayla Meade; sisters, Patricia White, Sherry Lowe, and Rachel (Mark) Jones; brothers, William (Karen) Meade, Roger (Rhonda) Meade, Johnny (Gail) Meade, Timmy Meade, Eric (London) Meade, David (Angie) Meade and Melvin (Danette) Meade; thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and best friends Darrell Campbell and Kenith Marcum.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the funeral home.
