Kevin Dingess Obituary

Kevin Dale Dingess, 53, of Cordell, Oklahoma, formerly of West Virginia, died Tuesday January 5, 2021, in Clinton, Oklahoma, after a long illness.

Born April 21, 1967, he was the son of Roger (Kay) Dingess of Lexington, North Carolina, and the late Shirley (Archie) Conley of Chapmanville, West Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Stepfather, Shirley and Archie Conley, and by his Grandparents: Vernon Dingess and Iva Lucille Spencer Dingess, and Oscar Ferrell and Glenna Faye Stowers Ferrell.

Kevin was honorably discharged from the United States Army, having served at Fort Sill, in Oklahoma from 1996-2000 with the Alpha 6th and 32nd units. He loved the great outdoors, was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, and collector of cast iron skillets. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he could always make us laugh and smile. His boisterous laugh, big personality, and huge heart will be forever missed.

Kevin is survived by his three children: Alexandria Dingess, of Warwood, West Virginia, and Pamela Dingess and Michael Dingess, both of Cameron, West Virginia. He is also survived by one grandson, Lukas Carter, of Warwood, West Virginia. In addition to his children and grandson, he is also survived by his siblings: Brian (Shawn) Dingess, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Angela (Matt) Williams, of Chapmanville, West Virginia; Dwight (Sharon) Dingess, of Chapmanville, West Virginia; Susie (Steve) Johnson, of Middlebourne, West Virginia; Stepbrother Jeff (Misti) Thomas, of Lakeland, Florida; Stepsister Patricia Gore, of Chapmanville, West Virginia. He is also survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. He is also survived by his best friend and cousin, Shelly Ferrell of Barboursville, West Virginia, with whom he was extremely close and loved dearly. Kevin is also survived by his companion, Dawn Anthony, with whom he made his home, and her children: Isaac, Hannah, Liam, and Rowan, who loved and took care of him in his final days.

Per Kevin’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered by the family. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
