Karen Sue Dempsey

Karen Sue Dempsey, 52 of Verdunville, WV, departed this life on October 18, 2021 at her residence.

She was born December 23, 1968 in Logan, WV the daughter of Willie Ruby Hall and the late Franklin Delenore Hall.

In addition to father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shawn Dempsey, one son, Shawn Dempsey, step-daughter, Amber Bush, two brothers, Timothy Hall and Franklin James Hall and her in laws, Jack & Elizabeth Dempsey, Sheldon, Phil, Danny, Billy, Carol Ann and Tim Dempsey.

Karen enjoyed painting and spending time with family.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include one son, Jack Dempsey; two grandchildren, Destiny Green and Annabelle Dempsey; seven sisters, Betty (Robert) Vance, Brenda Hall, Ruby Hall Vance, Sally Hall, Viola Rose Hall, Lewflurcie Hall and Cookie (Vince) Mendez; four brothers, Randy Hall, Reynold Hall, Leonard Hall and Alvin Hall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susie (Dennis) Carter, Jewel (Pyrus) Fields, and Ray (Mary) Dempsey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Dempsey Family Cemetery, Verdunville, WV.

Friends may call Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Dingess, WV.

Pallbearers will be Vinny and Benny Mendez, Reynold, Jimmy, Leonard, Franklin and Alvin Hall and Johnny Mahone.

Honorary pallbearers will be CJ Vance, Nathan Hall and Franklin Vance.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
