Mrs. Justine Adkins, 87, of Chapmanville, WV, went to be with her Savior Monday, September 14, 2020.
She was born November 14, 1932, in Lincoln County, WV, to the late May (Messer) Lambert and Claude Lambert.
She attended Guyan Valley High School where she was a member of the girls’ basketball team and won a state competition for the best handwriting. In 1950, she married Robert “Bobby” Adkins and they were together 49 years before his death in 1999. She was a homemaker, a receptionist, a former employee of Guyan Machinery and the Logan Country Club and was previously active in the Chapmanville Women’s Club. Justine loved family events, holidays, sewing, cooking, decorating, reading, being outdoors, gardening and her pets. She was an avid presence in her children’s school activities and was known for her outgoing personality, her strength, her intellect, her wit, her flair for fashion, and being outspoken for her beliefs.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Bill Lambert, Dennie Lambert, Ezra Lambert and Joe Lambert and sister Sharon Richards. She is survived by her daughters Davana Chase of Conroe, TX, Angela (Neil) Bryant of Conroe, TX; brothers Wandell Lambert and Dorsey Lambert of Frye, WV, Richard Lambert of Detroit, MI, Jim (Virginia) Lambert of Ferrellsburg, WV; sisters Georgia Richards of Conroe, TX, Phoebe Dingess of Atenville, WV, Oretha Farmer and Karen (Dale) Farmer of Ferrellsburg, WV; grandsons Scott (Annette) Walker and Shane (Roby) Walker both of Willis, TX, Ashley (Ambur) Walker of Spring, TX, where she made her home for the past year, granddaughters Andrea (Mark) Seay, and Audrianna (Jordan) Williamson; great grandchildren Alanna, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Violet, Gentry, Leighanna, Lauren, Kalem and Lincoln and a host of nieces and nephews; special caregiver Debbie and special pastor Mark Baxter; sister in-law, Virginia Lambert, and best friend Lettie Mae Nelson.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00, Monday, September 21, 2020 at C.D. Adkins Family Cemetery with Dennie Lambert Jr. officiating.
Friends may call Monday, September 21, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the C.D. Adkins Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Walker, Shane Walker, Ashley Walker, and Mark Seay.
