Judy Evans Obituary

Judy Gale Evans, 63, of Verdunville, WV, departed this life on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1956 in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late John Henry Workman and Lizzie Bryant-Workman.

In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her in-laws, James Evans Sr. and Nettie Frye; one brother, Junior Workman; and one sister, Georgie Blankenship.

Judy had an extraordinary passion for helping others. It is no question that her legacy will be her motherly instincts. She mothered not only children, but also those that were just in need of anything. During the holidays, Judy not only cooked very festive dinners for her family, she also spent her day making sure that others in the community, mostly including elders and widowed spouses, were fed dinners of grand proportions. While some may have seen her as old fashioned, in reality, she was an Angel to many. Her kind spirit was infectious to all around her. No grandmother in this World will ever be as loved by so many grandchildren as she was. Judy loved the summer months as they were spent setting on the front porch watching her pets and grandchildren playing in the front yard. But most of all, her trips to the beach with her family was what she looked forward to most. In her eyes, her purpose in life was to make others lives better, and that is exactly what she done. She was a life coach to her family, demanding but loving, and had a compassionate spirit that effected many. Even in her last days, her biggest concern was her family. Four things that made Judy’s face light up with a giant smile; her husband James, her children, her grandchildren, and her dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 48 years, James Evans Jr.; five daughters, Misha (Stephen) Herndon, Alyssa (Chase) Rice, Brandi Evans, Kynlee Evans, and Addysun Evans; three sons, Jamie (Melissa) Evans, Austin (Lauren) Evans, and Christopher Evans; one sister, Betty McCloud; one brother, Frank Workman; fourteen grandchildren, Jay Evans, Ethan Evans, Cooper Evans, Trevor Evans, Tom Newman, Chase Herndon, Jaycee Herndon, Cayne Rice, Annie Evans, Mila Evans, Tucker Watts, Teagan Watts, Asher Ellis, and Jamison Ellis; one great-grandchild, Makinzlee Evans; one special friend, Joann Nelson.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at West Logan Church of God with Alvis Porter Jr. officiating.
