Joyce Bell Shelton

Joyce Bell Shelton, 79 of Harts, WV, departed this life on October 27, 2023 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center, Danville, WV.

She was born March 3, 1944 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Melvin Stamper and Zada Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanford V. Shelton, son, Tommy Stamper, stepfather, Dave Tackett, and brothers, Herman (Wanda) Tackett, Arnold (Diane) Tackett, Vernon Bradley, James Tackett and Arson Tackett.

Joyce loved being with her children and grandchildren and socializing with her friends. She attended Guyan Freewill Baptist Church, being with her brothers and sisters in church. Joyce loved to work in the yard with her flowers in the summer and talking on the phone with her friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Beverly (Quinton) Adams; sister, Patricia Mullins; brother, Grayling (Margie) Mullins; grandchildren, Thomas (Kendra) Stamper, Julia (James) Black and Autumn Stamper; four great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Gaye Adams.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the funeral home with Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
