Joyce Gail Ellis, 84 of Varney, WV, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 in Williamson, Ky following a long illness.
She was born March 12, 1940 in Delbarton, WV the daughter of the late Rev. Carson and Bertha Dean Powers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Barry Duane Browning in 1981, her daughter, Trina Ranee Kirven on September 28, 2024, and her brother, C.B. Powers.
Joyce was a member of the Varney Church of God.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Carl Ellis of Varney; son, Greg Browning (Robin) of White Oak, WV; son-in-law, Roger Preston Kirven, Jr; grandson, Bronson Tate Kirven of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Kirsten Nicole Browning of Johnson City, TN; and two stepsons, Timmy (Camilla) Ellis and Lonnie Ellis (Lisa).
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV with Gary Starr officiating.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 11:00am until 12:30pm at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
