John “John Boy” Watts, 69 of Branchland, WV, departed this life on March 20, 2026 at his residence.

He was born January 27, 1957 in Hamlin, WV the son of the late John H. & Stellia Clark Watts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lena Watts, brothers, Wayne, Bill, Willis “Bug” (Brenda), and Elbert “Toboy” (LouLou), brother-in-law, Vernon Bradley and sister-in-law, Georgia Watts.

John Boy enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies and playing candy crush.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Sabrina Kay Watts and Samantha (Cody) Farley; sister, Alice Bradley; brothers, David “Runt” Watts, Delbert (Bessie) Watts and Raymond (Essie) Watts; sister-in-law, Grace Watts; grandchildren, Jodie, Cody Jr “CJ”, Aubrey and Tristin Farley; his best friend, Jim Adkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bill Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the Ramey Cemetery, Branchland, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Cody Farley, CJ Farley, Justin Toppings, Jim Adkins and TJ Barker.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
