John W. Conley, 85 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on October 28, 2025 at his residence.

He was born July 24, 1940 in Chapmanville, WV the son of the late Roy V. Conley and Hazel Dingess Conley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Irene Farley Conley and Peter & Buena Farmer Dingess, four brothers, Jack, Jeff, Jerry and James “Jimmy” Conley and three sisters, Edith Hager, Pearlene Rogers and Madlyn Sue Robison.

John enjoyed hunting, gardening, farming and his hunting dogs. He also had a love for horses.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Charlotte M. (Colin) Ferguson and Rebecca L. (Kevin) Singleton; three grandchildren, Jorah L. Singleton, Kate L. Ferguson and Claire M. Ferguson: nephew James Tony Robison.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Workman officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
