Joan Thompson, 82 of Logan, WV, departed this life on November 26, 2024, at Clemmons, NC.

She was born October 23, 1942, in Christian, WV, the daughter of the late Sanford Grimmett and Lillie Mae Wiley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendall Thompson; grandparents, Joseph and Edna Yeager; brothers, Walter Grimmett and Jackson Grimmett.

Joan loved cooking and baking.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Angela (Matt) Stewart, Tina (Kent) Varney and Sandy (James) McGraw; one son, Gregory (Christy) Robinson; three sisters, Shirley Cresong, Audrey Gilpin and Gail May; one brother, Timmy Wiley; nine grandchildren, Cody and Justin Tomblin, Dalton Bailey, Hannah Blankenship, Brittany (Tyler) Russ, Kendra Varney, Kaileigh Varney, Corey McGraw, Tanner Mcgraw and Hayla McGraw; and two great grandchildren, Ellie Wolfe and Griffin Russ.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew May, Philip McCane, Kent Varney, Matt Stewart, Dalton Bailey, Justin Tomblin and Cody Tomblin.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Bill Minton.
