Jim Markel

Jim Markel, 68 of Bellville MI, departed this life April 9, 2024, at Harts, W.V. Surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born January 12,1956 in Garden City, Michigan the son of the late Abe Markel and Helen Capra Markel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Markel and Cora Black, Mother and Father-in-law Elmer and Ann Music, and one brother Peter Markel.

Jim enjoyed being a truck owner/operator, he enjoyed race cars, riding on his Harley, Horses and spending time with Family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Donelda Music Markel; One Son Marc Cazier; One daughter Victoria Sloan; Three Grandchildren Tyler, Elizabeth, and Brandon Sloan.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Wallace Kirk and Cori Brumfield for all their love and help.

Visitation will be on Friday April 12, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. To 1:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., April 12, 2024, at the funeral home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Cemetery Harts, W.V.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.

DUE TO A POWER OUTAGE AT THE CHURCH THE PLACE OF THE VISTATION AND FUNERAL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE FUNERAL HOME.
