Jewell L. Frye, 92 of Ranger, WV, departed this life on August 8, 2025 at her residence.

She was born September 20, 1932 in Harts, WV the daughter of the late Fern Pack and Rosa (Manns) Pack.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Frye, son, L.D. “Rocky” Frye, sons-in-law, Don Terrill and Michael Price, granddaughter, Gabrielle Adkins, and brothers, Arlie (Elizabeth) Pack, Artie “Bud” (Aileen) Pack, George (Shirley) Pack and Donald Pack.

Jewell loved children and devoted her life to 4-H and Foster Grandparents for many years. She loved being a foster granny and worked until she retired at the age of 82 with the Harts Headstart. Jewell was a very active member of the East Fork Freewill Baptist Church. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years and attended all the summer camps where she taught sewing. In her younger years she traveled around and sang in a quartet with her family. Jewell was a loving grandmother and was always there to help anyway she could.

Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Tanja Williamson, Shelia Frye (Joe Shepherd), Cecelia Price (Keith Adams) and Beverly (Sean) Campbell; one son, Terrill (Kristie) Frye; daughter-in-law, Ruthie Frye; sister-in-law, Billie Frye; fourteen grandchildren, Eddie (Crystal) Williamson, Jason (Katie) Williamson, Derrick (Amber) Williamson, Joshua (Rachel) Shackoor, Ryanna (Corey) Adkins, Will Shepherd, Carlie (Larry) Christian, Jeremy (Kayla) Price, JoAnna (Bobby Joe) Wiley, Zackary Frye, Jacob Frye, Zachary Adkins, Jessica (Alex) Westervelt and Nicholas Watts; twenty-six great grandchildren; and special great nephew, Nick (Kiera) Cooper.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the East Fork Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Ray Vance officiating. Burial will follow at the Frye Cemetery, Ranger, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
