Jeremy Shane Copley, 41 of Dingess, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his residence.

He was born August 7, 1983, in Logan, WV, the son of Jan Copley and the late Jerry Copley.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ira “Noon” and Marie Copley; maternal grandparents, Roscoe Dillon and Freda Fleming Dillon; uncles, Dick Dillon, John Dillon, Bo Copley and Darrell Maynard; aunts, Vella Faye (Copley) Maynard and Gail Copley; and a host of cousins.

Shane was a 2001 graduate of Brady High School in N.C., where he played in band and made many life long friends. Shane was a beautiful soul who enjoyed making people smile and laugh.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his companion and the love of his life, Emile Dalton; sister, Jeri (Shane) Soper; brother, Brad Dillon; and close friends, Ashley Williams, Jeremy (Fuzz) Hall, Eric Haley, David Coffman, Acie Newsome, BJ Ketchersid, BJ Meade, Gary Fleming and Mary Ward; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church with James Ed Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at the Copley Family Cemetery, Dingess, WV.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
