Jason Thomas Adkins, 44 of 12 Pole, WV, departed this life on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence.

He was born December 20, 1979, in Logan, WV, the son of Mary Iris Adkins and the late Thomas Edward Adkins.

In addition to his daddy, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Ellen Adkins; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Corine Adkins; in-laws, Ralph and Debra Finley; cousins, Brennan Browning, Elwood (Bone) Adkins, Susan Legg and Jonathan Carter, who he loved like a brother.

Coal Mining was Jason's career passion and another passion for Jason was imitating and mimicking his favorite uncles, Wandle Meeks, Alonzo Tomblin, Uncle Dick, Uncle Dee, and Big Jim. Jason was a avid Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds, and WVU fan. He enjoyed endless hours of guitar playing and singing with his family. Most important to Jason was being a girl dad to his three precious daughters and spending every free minute with his family.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, “Sweet Little” Brooklyn (David) Curtis, Jalyn “Kanneezzer” Adkins and Ella “Ellie Grace” Adkins; sister, Mechelle “Sissy” (David) Hensley; brother, Jammie (Amanda) Adkins; aunts, Sherlene Olson, Iva Stallard, Gay Carter, Sherry Y. Marcum, Regina Adkins and Kelly Adkins; uncles, Richard Adkins and Larry Adkins; nephews, Jammie Adkins, Shelby Mullins, Travis Hensley, Manny Hensley and Chris Ward; nieces, Corina Nicole (Little Sissy) Hensley, Tabitha Hensley, Tara Hensley Derr and Taylor Ward; great nephews and nieces, Landyn Jase Mullins, Karson Mullins, Mace Foster, Ava and Penelope Adkins; those he called brothers, Scott Adkins, Luke Marcum, Terry Bidlack and Marty Adams; the loving mother of his children, Audrey Adkins; and his fur babies, Si and Slick.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery, Verdunville, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Isaiah “Fred” Tomblin, Shelby Mullins, David “Manny” Hensley, Jammie Adkins II, Luke Marcum, Jeremy Adkins, Shane Adkins and Aaron “Bubby” Adkins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Adkins, Terry Bidlack, Leonard Ray Adkins, David Hensley, David Curtis, Marty Adams, Joe Carter, Eddie Horne and Wandle Meeks.
