James “Jerry” Freeman, 77, of Big Creek, WV, departed this life on November 2, 2021 at his residence.
He was born March 30, 1944 in Big Creek, WV, the son of the late Jerry C. Freeman and Hasty Freeman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dara Freeman, two brothers, John Vance and Ricci Freeman, one grandchild, Jeffy Mobley and his in-laws, Robert & Winona Thomas.
Jerry loved his kids and grandkids, and his Chapmanville Tigers Basketball team, but most of all he loved watching Erica Lynn play softball. Jerry was a member of the Chapmanville Athletic Association. He was employed by The Logan County Sheriff's Department as a Transporter. Jerry enjoyed participating in the Honor Guard for the Military Funeral Services, honoring our Veterans. Cole and Erica were his pride and joy.
Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, JerriLynn Freeman (Ryan), Bobbi Ritchie (Scottie), Angel Freeman and Kristi Freeman; one son, Jeff Mobley (Sharon); three brothers, Page Freeman, Jay Freeman (Ida) and Joe Freeman (Teresa); four grandchildren, Cole Ritchie, Erica Sigmon, Marcos Mobley and Chassidy (Sam) Bryant; one great grandchild, Zaylee Bryant; and his special friends Sam Pridemore, Tony Bazilla, Mikey Vickers, Josh Conley and Eric Sigmon.
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, with Joe Pritchard and Otis Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at the Bell Cemetery, Limestone Branch Road, Big Creek, WV.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
