Jamie Farley, 47 of Chapmanville, WV, passed away October 21, 2024, at CAMC General Division after a short illness.

He was born September 14, 1977, in Huntington, WV, the only son of James “Larry” Farley and the late Martha Lois Farley.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim Farley and Martha Victoria Farley; maternal grandparents, Harry and Maryann Casto; and a niece, Makayla Toppings.

Jamie was a giant gentle heart of a man, he loved his family, there is nothing he wouldn't do to spend time with his family or help them. He loved spending time with his friends in the towers, knitting, arts and crafts, painting, playing video games, and teasing his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed going on adventures with Jeff and went on many trips to hear him play, he was one of his biggest fans. Jamie cherished his time with his dad, he would eat dinner everyday with his dad.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Vickie Toppings and Nancy (Larry) Hall; nieces and nephews he helped raise and whom he thought of his own, Cody (Sam) Farley, Shawnda (TJ) Barker, Justin Toppings, Garrett Smith and Trinity Smith; a very special aunt and uncle, Mary Rakes and Tony (Drema) Farley; a very special best friend/cousin, Jeff (Mandy) Rakes; his favorite lunch buddies, Trish Adams and Michelle Hunter; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Michael Paul Vance officiating. Burial will follow at the Will Farley Cemetery, Rock House, Harts, WV.

Pallbearers will be Cody Farley, Justin Toppings, Garrett Smith, Jeff Rakes, Larry Hall, TJ Barker, Tony Farley and Richie Wiley.
