James “JD” Lester, 50 of Holden, WV departed this life on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 23, 1975 in Man, WV the son of Darleen (John) Spears and the late James “Hotrod” Lester.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby & Icelene Adkins and Tilden & Oma Lester; and one brother, Shane Lester;

JD loved to be with his family. He loved to be outdoors, in the mountains, and loved being with his grandchildren. He loved making crafts and woodworking.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Darleen (John) Spears; daughter, Sarah (Blake) Toler; son, Greydon Lester-Wolfe; grandchildren, Aubree Lester, Jayden Jeffrey, Jaxtyn Toler, and Aston Toler; nephews, Bryce (Maci) Lester & Nick Lester; great-niece, Nova Lester; and uncle, Bobby (Karen) Adkins; along with a host of cousins and additional family and friends.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and the memorial service will be held at a later date.
