Hiram Marcum Jr., 80 of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.

He was born March 7, 1945, in Dingess, WV, the son of the late Hiram Marcum Sr. and Nancy J. Damron Marcum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Silas and Rosy Marcum; maternal grandparents, Mark and Gracie Damron; brothers, Carlas, Franklin, Silas, Larry and Rufus; sisters, Geneva, Elizabeth and Marcella Townsend; and mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Pauline Robertson.

Hiram loved traveling, being with family and going to church. He enjoyed cooking for the church and doing the food sales.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Janet Marcum; his children, Stacy Adcock, Sean (Sherry) Marcum, Brandon (Angie) Marcum, Brett (Samantha) Marcum, Pauline (Eugene) Snyder, Julia (Daryl) Starkey, Albert Kinney and Dawn Marcum; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, June 13, 2025, at Orville Holiness Church, Rum Creek, WV, with Walter Hawkins, Robbie Hawkins and Jason Hawkins officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Snyder, Daryl Starkey, Greg Cole, Tracy Milton, Hunter Owens, Albert Kinney and Brian Marcum.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
