Helen Louise Harst

Helen Louise Harst, 78 of Lorain, OH, departed this life on January 29, 2021 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain, OH after a short illness.

She was born September 5, 1942 in Kitchen, WV the daughter of the late Sylva & Addie Workman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, John R. Harst in 2002, brothers, Arthur Ray Workman, Gene Workman, Sylva Workman Jr and Everett Workman and sisters, Ollie Workman, Carrie Brewster and Mona Lois Adkins.

Helen worked at Ford Motor Company, Avon Lake assembly plant for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 2000. Helen enjoyed shopping, gardening, riding ATV'S, kayaking, ice cream, the outdoors, and spending time with her family. She especially loved her dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, James G. “Jim” Adkins and his wife, Opal and Anthony “Tony” Adkins both of Lorain, OH; grandchildren, Angela Marie Morris and her husband, Brian of Lorain, OH and James Earl Adkins and his wife Alissa Simon of Wickliffe, OH; great grandchildren, Michael Collins, Haily Collins and Alana Morris; sisters, Joyce Jackson of Chapmanville, and Judy Killik of Hobe Sound, FL; and the father of her sons, James Thomas Adkins.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, February 4, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rick Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Lilly-Adkins Cemetery, Saw Mill Road, Chapmanville, WV

Friends may call February 4, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
