Hattie Nadratowski (nee Bryant), age 95, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Medina, OH, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born in Chapmanville, WV, on July 7, 1929.

Hattie is survived by children, Judy Berry (Pete) and Pamela Sue Thompson; grandchildren Rondall Craig Chapman (Linda Hyatt), Robert Wade Thornhill (Shannon), Jacy Gilliam and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Chapman, Riley and Colin Thornhill, Jadiana Gilliam; sister Ila Lee Scaggs (Franklin, deceased), her brothers-in-law, Ron Nader (Carlene) and Gene Nader, and multiple special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Nadratowski, daughter Willa Rae Gilliam (Denis, deceased), son Jack Davis and grandson Jack Russell Davis, 9 sisters, 1 brother, and parents French Bryant and Rachel Bryant (nee Curry.)

Hattie was a country girl returning often to her roots here in Logan County after relocating to Ohio as an adult. Hattie was an avid gardener. She loved her pretty flowers and her vegetable garden. She retired from Stouffer’s after many years of service. Anyone who met Hattie, was in for a treat when they left her home. She always had a gift or token to take with them whether they wanted or needed it! Her favorite pastimes were going to thrift stores with her sister, Ila, or laying by the pool with friends when she and Henry spent their winters in Florida.

Hattie’s spirit and love will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1 pm to 2 pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 220 Main St., Chapmanville, WV 25508. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Hattie will be laid to rest with her husband in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations to be made in Hattie’s name to Miracle City Hospice 9150 S. Hills Blvd. #100 Broadview Hgts., OH 44147.
