Harvey Joe Woodzell, 71 of Danville, WV, departed this life on June 18, 2025, at Boone Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 21, 1953, in Madison, WV the son of the late Harry & Edith Woodzell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Woodzell, Roger Woodzell and William “Bill” (Opal) Woodzell, and his special friend, Venture Mitchell.

Joe enjoyed watching TV, playing his Nintendo, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with family. Joe Recently gave his life to the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory include his nephew, William “Scotty” Woodzell and his wife Kimberly, their three kids, Jacob (Carlie) and their kids, Chandler & Paisley, Austin & Hellen and their two kids, Jackson and Ameila, and Tyler Woodzell; niece, Stephanie Woodzell and her two kids, Shauni Woodrum and her kids, and Skylar Adams her significant other Luke White; his sister, Penny Woodzell and her two kids, Mark and Eric; and nephew, Allen (Misty) Woodzell and their three kids.

The family would like to thank the staff at Boone Memorial Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family is asking that donations be made to the Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
