Gregory Howard Willis, 60 of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his residence after a long battle against grade 4 Glioblastoma/brain cancer.

He was born April 14, 1965, in Logan, WV, the son of Arthur Willis and the late Loretta Willis.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Ryan Willis; daughter, Miranda Dawn Johnson; brother, Art Willis Jr.; sister, Linda Vance; paternal grandparents, Vinson and Adina Willis; maternal grandparents, Enoch and Beulah Adkins; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, James W. and Gracie Baisden.

Greg was a retired Frontier communications cable-splicer. He was a member and trustee at Victory Freewill Baptist at Mill Creek. He took pride in leading the youth basketball program at his church. He also enjoyed traveling especially via cruise ships and loved taste-testing different foods along the way.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Angela Willis; daughters, Kara (Justin) Vance and Cortney (Patrick) Jones; sister, Brenda Mckenzie; brothers, Danny Willis and Scott Willis; grandchildren, Isabella Belcher, Liam Vance, Lucy Vance, Stetson Jones, and Kingston Jones; long-time friend and caregiver, David Whitman, who he also called his brother; and special friend, Kara Hainer who he always looked forward to seeing and eating the goodies she always brought for him.

A special thanks to his team at Dignity Hospice and his team at UVA.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow at the Dillon-Prince Cemetery, Dingess, WV

Visitation will be on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Jones, Justin Vance, David Whitman, Brian Miller, Drew Lewis, Scott Willis and Andy McKenzie.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Liam Vance, Stetson Jones, and Kingston Jones.
