Gregory Bruce Adkins, Sr, 67 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on August 31, 2025 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 4, 1958 in Logan, WV the son of the late Elva & Thelma Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Macie Adams Adkins and his grandparents, Stonewall & Welthea Adkins and French & Rachel Bryant.

Bruce enjoyed working in the coal mines, and spending time with his sons. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Gregory Bruce Adkins Jr and his wife Brooke of Shade, OH and Steven Adkins and his wife Kassie of Logan, WV; grandchildren, Brittany, Jenna, Shawn, Chase, Braylee, Kameron , Jenna and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Wrenley; and other family, Larry Adkins, Willie Wilson, Frank Skaggs, Keith Skaggs and Alan Chapman.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Reb Adkins Cemetery at Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Adkins, Bruce Adkins, Willie Wilson, Frank Skaggs, Keith Skaggs and Larry Adkins.
