Grady Elwood Pennington, 97, of Dingess, departed this life on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at his residence.

He was born September 26, 1927 in Huntsville, Alabama, a son of the late George Washington Pennington and Willie Florence Allen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 62 years, Margaret Pennington, son-in-law Kearns Combs and 14 siblings.

Grady enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Genia (Danny) Helton, Kathy (Dr. Michael) Patierno, Patsy Combs, and Jackie (Larry) Neace; one son, Michael (Evelyn) Pennington; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie (Jon) Reynolds, Rebekkah (Charlie) Burkett, Patrick Napier, Mika (Trevor) Snider, Kim Combs, Dr. Jason 
(Christy) Roberts, Grady Todd Roberts, Margaret Nicole (Joey) Jones, Velva Pennington (Boo Nelson), Mikaleah (Steven) Alley, and Michael (Tommie) Pennington; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Also, Ed and Carol Thomas, lifelong best friends. Left to carry 
on the Pennington name and bloodline Malachi Wild Pennington.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025 at the funeral home with Bishop Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
