Gory L. Browning

Gory L. Browning, 71 of Harts, WV, departed this life on April 14, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

He was born March 27, 1953 in Leet, WV the son of the late Gory & Lela Mae Browning.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Tony Browning, one grandson, Seth Patton, two sisters, Pearlina Browning and Belvie Evans, one brother, Kenneth Browning and his mother-in-law, Emily Bearden.

Gory enjoyed spending time with family, especially watching sports with his sons, taking walks in the woods, collecting rocks from his walks everywhere he visited. He loved country music and his dogs. Gory was most happy at family dinners and playing with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Levonda Browning; son, Clint (Megan) Browning; sister, Sena (Melve) Lowe, brothers, Andrew (Rita) Browning and Thurman (Martha) Browning; grandchildren, Coleman (Nikki) Browning, Logan (Alexis) Browning, Chanelle (Brendon) Wichterman and Sophia (Gabriel) Browning; great grandchildren, Nora Rayne, Hazel Grace, Avah Howell and Paisley Faith; and his father-in-law, Ralph Bearden.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, April 19, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at the Browning Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Coleman Browning, Logan Browning, Chase Browning, Gariel Lemons and James Rice.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
