Glennis "Benny" Cremeans

Glennis “Benny” Cremeans, 71, of Haleyville, Al, formerly of Mount Gay, WV departed this life on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1949 in Mount Gay, WV, the son of the late Golden Cremeans, Pauline Romans Adkins and Robert Lee Adkins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Cremeans; one sister, Edith Sue Taylor; mother-father-in-law, Russell Porter and Carrie Finley Porter.

Glennis “Benny” was a coal miner , a veteran, he was a member at Calvery Freewill Baptist at Dingess for many years. He was a devoted father, brother and pawpaw, to everyone that knew him, He enjoyed car trading, spending time with family and raising his girls, Des and Shanna. He had a special friend, Charley (Nancy) Casto.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Delcie Porter Cremeans; his baby, Sharlene (Darell) Cornelius; one son, Russell Cremeans; three brothers, Zandel (Angie) Cremeans, Roger Adkins, Robert Jr (Beverly) Adkins, and Roy (Linda) Adkins; five sisters, Goldaline (Buddy) Casto, Anita (Ray) Casto, Pam Green, Darlene Crank, and Rosie (Danny) Sheppard; three sister-in-laws, Sandy Cremeans, Peggy Lucas, and Shirlene Kimbrough; four grandchildren, Destiny (Cody) Walker, Shanna Cremeans, Whitnye Cremeans, Russell Alan Cremeans; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of family and friends and special care taker his son-in-law, Darell Cornelius.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Sid Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisons Cemetery, Pidgeon Roost, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 11am-2pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
