George Elba Frye

George Elba Frye, 71, of Danville, WV, departed this life on January 3, 2022 at his residence.

He was born February 22, 1950 in Logan, WV, the son of the late Jack Frye and Dora Workman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maggie, two brothers, David and James and his in-laws, Ivan & Lucille Davidson.

George was the founder of Pickin-in-the-Park. He enjoyed song writing, bluegrass music and playing the Dobro. George was in the Turtle Creed Band. He was an avid restorer of old cars. George served in the United States Marine Corps.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Frye; one daughter, Priscilla Rose; three sons, George “Ralph” (Karen), Phillip and Michael; one sister, Brenda Joyce; four brothers, Frank, Rick, Edward, and Charles; fourteen grandchildren, Harley, Maverick, Wyatt, Michael, Carlee, Jorjia, Chevelle, Ivy, Layla, Stephen, Casey, Chance, Annie and Hunter; and a host of special friends.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Joe Triplett officiating. Burial will follow at Chapman Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
