Ethel Mae Sheppard, 66 of Logan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, WV.

She was born October 8, 1958 in Mingo County, WV, a daughter of the late Alex & Georgia Bryant Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Vance, one son, Marlin Hodge, two daughters, Tonya Thompson and Bertha Hodge, one brother, Charles Bryant and two sisters, Dixie Crum and Melda Bryant.

Ethel enjoyed listening to music, coloring and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William “Tom” Sheppard of Logan, WV; one son, Kenneth Thompson of Sylvester, WV; one daughter, Georgia (Joseph) Dillon of Kermit, WV; three granddaughters, Chasity (Jakob) McCoy, Heather (Shawn) Thompson and Christina (Leroy) Hunt; three grandsons, Austin Dillon, Jordan Dillon and Josh Dillon; two great grandsons, Timothy Spaulding and Jameson Hunt; four brothers, Dennis Bryant, James Bryant, Wade Bryant and Billy Bryant; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved so much.

Services will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Clifford Waller officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
