Emily Beth Carter

Emily Beth Carter, 40 of Cross Lanes, WV departed this life on September 12, 2023 at her residence.

She was born March 27, 1983 in Charleston, WV the daughter of Emory Lee (Ida) Carter and the late Peggy Sue Fowler.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bethel and Sylvia Jo Fowler and Willis and Anna Mae Carter.

Emily enjoyed music, reading, horror films, band (Scott High School Class 2001), nature, crystals, and white castle.

In addition to her father, those left to cherish her memory include her companion, Jonathan Allen King; one daughter, Raynbow Skye Carter-Freeman; two sons, Sebestyen Reid Carter-King and Benngee Alan Carter-King, one sister, Melody Sue (Lisa Marteny) Carter; and nephew, Gage N. Carter-Marteny.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, September 16, 2023 at the funeral home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Park, Danville, WV.

Pallbearers will be Rexal Rhodes, Billy Johnson, John Herman, Steven King, Lisa Marteny, and Raynbow Carter-Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sebestyen Reid Carter-King and Benngee Alan Carter-King.

In leiu of flowers contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home.
