Emil "Junebug" Gore

Emil “Junebug” Gore, 80, of McConnell, WV, departed this life on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

He was born September 28, 1940 in Ethel, WV, the son of the late Emil Gore Sr.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria “Jeannie” Gore; brothers, Rick Gore, and David Gore; sister, Lava Dingess; niece, Charleston Patrolman Cassie Johnson.

Junebug served in the U.S. Army, he was a member of the sons of the 2nd, Shawnee Trail Association, and an avid reenactor. Junebug was a true patriot.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter; Dianna (Ronnie) Pack of Whitman, WV, three sons; John (Rebecca) Gore of Bradenton, Florida, Michael (Hillary) Gore of Milton, WV, and Carl Gillum of Pigeon Roost, three sisters; Sheryl Johnson, Karen Rectenwald, and Yvonne Burgess, all of Charleston, WV, two brothers, Willard Casto and Terrence Casto, both of Charleston, WV, grand-children; Hali (Frank) Utley of Logan, WV, Cody (Sarah) Gore of Tacoma, Washington, Christen (Michael) Ellis of Whitman, WV, Carlee Pack of Whitman, WV, London Gore of Milton, WV, Taylor Gore, Johnathan Gore, Carly Paynter, and Savannah Paynter, all of Bradenton, Florida, Great grandchildren; Julian Gore of Charleston, WV, Jayden Meade of Logan, WV, Lyla Ellis, and Baby Boy Ellis of Whitman, WV, Special friends; Ed Thornhill and David Vidovich along with so many others who were like brothers, as well as, nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.

Services will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at The Liz Spurlock Amphitheater with Josh Vanhook and Lonnie Gore officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ed Thornhill, David Vidovich, Mack Altizer, Harry Freeman, Shane Gore, Kevin Gore, Clarence Vance, Eugene Mazocchi, Mike Holbrook, Josh Lyall, Bill Miller, Roger Gore, Chuck Dacus, and Mike Williams.
