Elsie Chambers McNeely, 89 of Chapmanville, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

She was born March 20, 1935, in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Lucian and Dicie White Chambers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Virlen McNeely; siblings, Roy Chambers, Foster Chambers, Louie Chambers, Naaman Chambers, Edith Ferrell, Mebel McCloud, Edna Maynard and Christie Stevens.

She worked as a legal assistant for twenty-five years before working for the Federal Government in the Social Security Division, retiring after twenty-seven years. She was a member of Shining Light United Baptist Church of Chapmanville. She sang in the Victory Four Quartet when she was a teenager, which included her husband.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Teena (Bruce) Adams of Chillicothe, OH and Scott (Cindy) McNeely of Belvidere, TN; and several nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Shining Light United Baptist Church, Crawley Creek Rd., Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Rick Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 12:30pm to 1:00pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
