Elizabeth Collins, 81 of Van, WV, went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2021 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV after a long battle with multiple illnesses.
She was born February 15, 1940 in Holden, WV the daughter of the late John Ed Sr & Bersheba Sheppard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lee R. Collins, two sons, John Collins Sr and James Collins, five siblings, Ellen Blankenship, Tom Estep, Lewis Sheppard Sr, John Ed Sheppard Jr and Virgil Lee Sheppard and her beloved brother-in-law, Matt Dulcie Sr.
Liz graduated from Logan High School and Marshall Business. She was a proud Military wife and mother of two sons. Liz enjoyed having a garden, growing flowers, crocheting, watching gunsmoke, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include one sister, Betty Dulcie; three grandchildren, John Jr (Christina) Collins, Kristen Collins, and Ethan Collins; four great-grandchildren, Audrey Collins, Sawyer Collins, Charlie Garlin and Apphia Collins Boursiquot; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Shelby Sheppard.
The family would like to thank CAMC General 3 South for their excellent care.
Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow at the Vance Cemetery, Holden, WV.
Friends may call Monday, October 4, 2021 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
