Elder Lenford Earl Nelson

Elder Lenford Earl Nelson, 62, of Ranger West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17th, 2023.

Lenford was born December 28th, 1960 the son of Maxine K and the late Jessie Nelson.

He served his community as a Critical Care Paramedic retired and went on to serve in law enforcement as West Virginia Department of Transportation Officer, Auditor, Educator and Firearms Instructor. He was an ordained minister and pastor of Elm Grove United Baptist Church and Moderator of the Union Bethlehem Association. His most prestigious titles were that of child of God, fisher of men, Dad and Papaw.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Delane Wiley Porter Nelson, sons Derek, Cody (Nichole) Porter and the apple of his eye Granddaughter Jodi. Also, survived by his mother, Maxine; sister; Beth Nelson-Shanteau, and brothers; Charles (Samantha), Odell and Ronnie(Albanie) Nelson.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at the Elm-Grove United Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Church with Elder Darrell Miller and Elder Roger Mcguire officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland,WV.

Pallbearers will be WV D.O.T Officers.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
