Edward "Little Eddie" Jones

Edward “Little Eddie” Jones, 73, of Harts, WV, departed this life on November 15, 2022 at his residence.

He was born March 31, 1949 in West Hamlin, WV, the son of the late Edward “Big Eddie” (Ginny) Jones and Stella Jane (Browning) Jones.

In addition to his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Faye Jones, sister, Sharon Lynn Jones, grandparents, App (Nancy) Jones, Rhoda Clark (Rufus) Watts, Everett Browning, Polly Ann (Kinser) Browning and his father and mother-in-law, Ezra & Jewell (Holbrook) Midkiff.

Eddie loved fishing, playing his guitar, watching westerns and the Andy Griffith Show, and scaring his grandchildren with scary movies. He was a very private person to strangers, but would do anything he could for close family, friends and his cat Narla.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Melissa Lynn Jones (Raymond Gore) of Harts, WV, and Marsha Lynn Jones (John Harless) of Ranger, WV; three sisters, Stella “Ann” Matney (Eddie) of Wayne, WV, Karen Jones Thompson of California, and Kathy Jones Johnson Watts of Prichard, WV; two brothers, Michael “Mike” Jones (Mary) of Fort Gay, WV and Ricky Jones (Alice) of Rootstown, OH; five grandchildren, Jacob Anthony Thompson, Maggian Thompson both of Ranger, WV, Melanie “Breezy” BreAnn Jones (Nicholas Ramey), Britney “Britt” Nicole Smith (Kaleb Owsley) and Christin “KeKee” Michelle Smith all of Harts, WV; and one special niece, Sharlene Moore of Harts, WV.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at the New Everett & Polly Browning Cemetery, Manns Knob, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
