Easter J. Johnson

Easter Jewell Johnson, 86 of Verdunville, WV, departed this life on September 1, 2021 at her daughters residence.

She was born April 4, 1935 in Chapmanville, WV the daughter of the late Virgil and Molly Burton.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; General Lee Evans, five children; Tonya Lynn Johnson, Sheila Evans, Tammy Evans, Monty Ray Evans, and Jerry Lee Evans, four sisters; Wanda Burton, Olive Dingess, Carol Dunn, and Virgie Burton, four brothers; Don Burton, Golden Burton,and Tom Burton.

Easter enjoyed being a devoted mother that loved her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters; Yvonne (Leonard) Meade and Rosie (Pnut) Johnson, three sons; Harold Evans, George (Paula) Evans, and Jackie Johnson Jr., two sisters Jean Smith and Arizona Bryant, brothers, Virgil Burton and Glenn Burton, nine grandchildren; Kevin Evans, Leonard Meade Jr, Chris Meade, Evan Varney, James Meade, Adam Nelson, Clellan Hensley II, Amber Evans, and Georganna Evans, special niece; Loretta Burton, along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday September 7, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jerry Allen Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Doss Cemetery at Brushy Fork, WV.

Friends may call Monday, September 6, 2021 from 6:00 Pm till 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Friends and family, honorary pallbearers; Kevin Evans, Leonard Meade, Evan Varney, James Meade, Adam Nelson, Clellan Hensley II.
