Earl Meade, 90 of Nettie, WV formerly of Dingess, WV, departed this life on May 13, 2025 at the Rainelle Healthcare Center.

He was born August 4, 1934 in Dingess, WV the son of the late Otis & Dixie Meade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lavonne Meade, granddaughter, Gerrie Jo Meade, grandparents, George & Georgia Meade and his father and mother-in-law, Carl & Elizabeth “Betty” Wilson.

Earl loved being in the mountains and squirrel hunting. He loved going to church, his family and grandchildren. Earl was a devoted Christian and a retired coal miner.

Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Linda & Phil Hercenberg of Gahanna, OH, Bonnie & Sam Craddock of Ripley, WV and Earlene & Donnie Boley of Nettie, WV; one son, Ronnie Joe & Roxanne Meade of Lafolette, TN; one sister, Betty Bigney of Barboursville, WV; six grandchildren, Brandon & Cameron Vance, Chad & Monica Craddock, William & Natasha Burke, Bethany Hercenberg, Kimberly Meade, and Mary Lavonne Meade; seven great-grandchildren, Savannah Vance, Nick Craddock, Alec Vance, Madison Vance, Oliver Vance, Joshua Nunley and Trenton Nunley; a host of great-great grandchildren; and his Godchild, Michelle Glanden.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Meade Cemetery, Dingess, WV with James Ed Baisden officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Boley, Ronnie Joe Meade, Alec Vance, Oliver Vance, Brandon Vance and Cameron Vance.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dwain Vance.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
