Douglas Robert Bryant

Douglas Robert Bryant, 57, of Mudfork, departed this life on April 19, 2022 at the UK Hospital, Lexington, KY.

He was born December 17, 1964 in Logan, WV, the son of the late Robert & Eunice Bryant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alonzo & Weltha Bryant and Floyd & Bertha Payne Conley, brother, Hurtis Bryant, sister, Edith Whittington, two nephews, Jennings Jessie “Bubber” Bryant and Virgil Black Jr., father-in-law, Virgil Farley, sisters-in-law, Judy Bryant and Linda (Paul) Maynard and brother-in-law, Bobby Dixon.

Doug was a coal miner for 30 years. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Bryant; two daughters, Branda (Dallas) Maynard and Erica (Josh) White; five grandchildren, Hunter White, Dakota Maynard, Austin White, Brynlee Maynard and Morgan White; four sisters, Nancy (Charlie) Casto, Retha (Virgil) Black, Vellecca Dixon, and Teresa (Sherman) Crum; three brothers, Curtis Bryant, Ora Jerry (Janet) Bryant and Mickey Bryant; very special friend, Ed Harrison; mother-in-law, Alice Farley; in-laws, Angie (Mike) Pape, Regina (Scott) Ostrom, and Virgil Farley Jr; and a host nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 25, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Elbert Collins Jr, Glenn Tomblin, and Gary Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Conley Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ora Jerry Bryant, Mickey Bryant, Scott Ostrom, Ed Harrison, Brandon Bryant, Virgil Farley Jr, Jeff Allred, Josh Adams, Jeromey Crum, Mickey Bryant Jr and Virgil Black.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter White, Dakota Maynard, Austin White, Josh White, Dallas Maynard, Rylan Mickey Bryant and Sherman Crum.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
