Dorothy Lewis

Dorothy Lewis, 75 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on January 8, 2022 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 2, 1946 in Accoville, WV the daughter of the late Denver & Virgie Franklin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Lewis, two brothers, Denver Franklin Jr and Willard Franklin, two sisters, Dolly Chandler and Betty Crawford.

Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a dedicated homemaker and active church member. Kenneth and Dorothy shared a love like no other. Their commitment to each other only grew stronger over their 57 years of marriage. They set an amazing example of what true love is. Her pride and joy was her family. She was the hostess and head chef of all family events. Everyone loved her fried chicken, scratch brownies, and peach cobblers. Dorothy always wanted her family to know how much she loved them. She wanted everyone to know God and her faith was evident in everything she did. She was her family's rock, advisor and mighty prayer warrior.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Lewis; two daughters, Tracy (Robert) Edmisten and Stephanie (James) Hill; one son, Timothy (Becky) Lewis; two sisters, Bonnie Scott and Joyce Laws; two brothers, Luther Franklin and Johnnie Franklin; ten grandchildren, Tim Lewis, Amanda Barella, McKenna Lewis, Chris Bowen, Adam Bowen, Gaige Edmisten, Kayla Hensley, Rachel Robison, James Nathan Hill, and Hunter Hill; and seven great-grandchildren, Dekun, Layla, Liam, L.J. Harper, Zayden and Merrick.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Clifford Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bowen, Adam Bowen, James Nathan Hill, Hunter Hill, Gaige Edmisten, and Nathan Hensley.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Hill and Robert Edmisten.
