Dorothy Louise Hendricks, 80 of Danville, WV, departed this life on January 8, 2025 at her residence.

She was born August 31, 1944 in Hewett, WV, the daughter of the late Aubrey and Louella Ferrell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Troy Hendricks II.

Dorothy was retired from the WV Regional Jail Authority and the wife of Troy Hendricks who served in the House of Delegates. She enjoyed dancing, she was belly dancer of the year in 1981 and was a belly dancing instructor. She performed on the floor of House for Governor Jay Rockefeller, the00 Senate, and speakers of the house and the Delegates. She also performed all over for numerous occasions. Dorothy loved music, coloring, oil painting, sewing, scrap booking, playing the piano, decorating the house or anything she could, and flower arranging. She loved animals and enjoyed watching and petting cats and dogs. Dorothy liked to collect purses, jewelry, and boots. She loved watching the ocean and playing board 
games and cards.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Troy Wayne Hendricks; one son, Vincent Scott Hendricks; one sister, Debra Ashby; her loving brother Dave Mounts and brothers Terry Ferrell and Dana Ferrell; her best friend and cousin, Teresa Ferrell; nieces and nephews, Jerry Lawrence and Troy Lawrence, Jay Ashby, Kim Ashby, Jennifer Ferrell, and Chad Ferrell.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, January 13, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Frank Ball officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be on Monday January 13, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
