Dorothy Marie Grimmett

Dorothy Marie Grimmett, 84 of Dingess, WV, departed this life on May 8, 2022 at her residence.

She was born December 25, 1937 in Monaville, WV the daughter of the late Elmo Fowler and Shirley (Vance) Fowler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Gail Grimmett, her grandparents, Edward & Ada (Ellis) Fowler and Jonah & Peggy (Browning) Vance, one brother, Denzil Elmo Fowler Jr and her in-laws, Floyd & Muriel Grimmett.

Dorothy and Don were married on December 21, 1958. She was a homemaker and caregiver.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Don Grimmett of Dingess; three daughters, Donna Tomblin of Dingess, Dina (Porky) Tomblin of Dingess and Debby (Jimmy) Durst of Point Pleasant; one son, Donald P. Grimmett of Houston, TX; one brother, Lawrence (Linda) Fowler of Pie, WV; seven grandchildren, LaDonna (Buster) Tomblin, DonMart (Jennifer) Messer, Daniel (Victoria) Grimmett, Lisa (CD) Newsome, Dorothea Mays, Cody Marcum and Tanner Durst; thirteen great-grandchildren, Allison (Derek) Spry, Addison Messer, Cody, James, and Jeremy Messer, Haven Tomblin, Karley Newsome, Kenna Hayes, Eddie and Gabriel Mays, Damion, Shelby and Christian Grimmett; three great-great grandchildren, Khloe, Lillie, and Matthew Spry; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Darrell Newsome and Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Friends may call Friday, May 13, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Cody Marcum, Tanner Durst, Addison Messer, Daniel Grimmett, CD Newsome, and Jimmy Durst.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buster Tomblin and Derek Spry.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
