Donna Marie Aleshire, 61, of Meadow Fork died at home on June 24, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.

She was born March 10, 1964 in Madison, WV the daughter of the late Charles and Madeline Lester.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ann.

Donna loved to travel, be it on the back of a Harley or with the whole family. As much as she loved to travel, it paled in comparison to her need to serve. Donna dedicated her life to her family and her community in various ways. She was a Sunday School teacher, a 4-H leader and loved every child for whom she cared. Donna always showed up for the people she loved and even strangers; whether it be to provide a warm meal, a prayer or a listening ear. She will be remembered for her pumpkin rolls at Thanksgiving and her peanut butter eggs at Easter. Donna will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and her community.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Aleshire; daughter, Crystal Vance; and son, Michael (Jessica) Aleshire. Donna also leaves behind the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Tim, Avery and Kennedy Vance as well as Sawyer and Charlee Aleshire. She is also survived by her siblings, Andy (Myrtle) Lester, Sue Ball, Connie (Nate) Dolin and Chris (April) Lester in addition to innumerable extended family.

The family would like to acknowledge the amazing outpouring of support from the very community that Donna loved so dearly. The phrase “it takes a village” rings so loudly now in this moment. The family would also like to thank all of the healthcare teams that have provided Donna and her family with exceptional care, most notable Edwards Cancer Center, Thomas Cancer Center and Kanawha Hospice. Your kindness is appreciated.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Ball Chapel, Jeffrey, WV with Nate Dolin and Barry “Bub” Mynes officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 4, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
