Donald Jerry Manns Sr

Donald Jerry Manns Sr, 58, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Friday, January 12, 2018 at CAMC Teays Valley, Hurricane, WV.

He was born March 11, 1959 in Logan, WV, a son of the late David & Odessa Manns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will & Emma Manns and Silas & Carrie Gartin, one son, Ryan Manns and his father and mother-in-law, Steve & Dona Ramey.

Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and family, and going to church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Patricia Manns of Harts; two daughters, Misty (Derek) Meade and Jessica (Andy) Smith both of Harts; one son, Donald “DJ” (Emma) Manns of Harts; one sister, Cathy (Junior) Frye of Branchland; two brothers, Ernie (Robin) Manns and Jimmy Manns both of Harts; five grandchildren, Isabella Meade, Alexandria Meade, Bransen Lambert, Gauge Smith and Matthew Manns; and a host of special friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Eric “Tubby” Rakes and Gary Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery, Ferrellsburg, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randall Manns, Dickie Christian, Shane Farley, Curtis Wiley, Kevin Keeling, Joe Bennett, Stephon McCloud and Anthony Lambert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Meade, Andy Smith, James “Al” Lewis, Ernie Manns and Jimmy Manns.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
