Donald "Donnie" Ray Sparks

Donald “Donnie” Ray Sparks, 65, of Orma, WV, departed this life on September 20, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born January 12, 1957 in Hamlin, WV, the son of Vernon Sparks of Chapmanville and the late Gladys Sparks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Betha Sparks and his grandparents, Less & Jessie Sparks and Claudie & Tollie Eplin and his special dog, Sweetie-NatNat.

Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his lawn mower.

In addition to his father Vernon, those left to cherish his memory include one son, Travis Sparks of Chapmanville; one sister, Deloris (Joe) Holtzclaw of Chapmanville; three brothers, Eugene (Sue) Sparks, Ronnie (Kathy) Sparks both of Chapmanville and Scottie (Cindy) Sparks of Huntington; and one stepsister, Janet (Ken) Green of Siler City, NC.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Vernon Eugene Sparks and Harry Joe Dingess officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Big Joe Holtzclaw, Lil Joe Holtzclaw, Jared Holtzclaw, Jamie Sparks, Aaron Sparks, and Jason Sparks.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Perry.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
