Donald Gene Cabell, 81 of Chapmanville, WV, gained his Heavenly wings on May 17, 2025 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV.

He was born March 20, 1944 in Logan, WV the son of the late Lola Cabell.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Cabell, his sisters, Sadie Bryant, and Joann Harmon, his brothers, Johnny Cabell, Roger Cabell and Albert “Maywood” Cabell and his mother-in-law, Grace Waugh.

Don enjoyed helping others, spending time with family and working around the yard and pool. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Sandy Cabell; his daughter, Darlene (Dale) Maynard; daughter-in-law, Angie Cabell; grandchildren, Cassie (Corey) Cabell, Scott (Catherine Reckard) Cabell, Gabe & Fallon Maynard, Blake Maynard and Brooke Maynard; his caregivers, Jeanie & Clyde Estep; and a host of other family and friends.

Per Dons wishes his body was donated to the Marshall University Medical School. Memorial services will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Striker Bible Church with John E. Godby officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
