Don Porter, Jr., 60 of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2025 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 10, 1965 in Holden, WV the son of the late Don Porter, Sr. and Nettie Marcum Rockel Porter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Baisden, brother-in-law, Henderson Baisden, sister-in-law, Kathy Rockel, his friend and companion, Cora Hall, fraternal grandparents, Alvis & Goldie Stone Porter and his maternal grandparents, Sylvania & Susanna Marcum.

Don graduated from Lenore High School in 1983. He worked at Pizza Hut at Stollings, WV for several years and then at ResCare at Buffalo Creek, WV from 1992 until 2008.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Ernest (Moreen) Rockel and his sister, Sue Ann (Ronald) Adams; special nieces, Lisa Baisden, Tanayea Brewer, Beverly Anderson and Ernestine Nelson. He is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

Don will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, November 14, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockel Family Cemetery, at Dingess, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
