Dinah Marie Dorton, 66 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on November 8, 2025 at her residence.

She was born March 24, 1959 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Gilbert & Roxie Opal Workman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Dorton; two daughters, Handy Conley and Venus Simpkins, one granddaughter, Cheyenne Gullett, grandparents, Enic & Sarah Lewis Workman and Doc & Flori Workman, two brothers, Joe Workman and Jimmy Workman, three sisters, Jan Sperry, Brenda Toppings and Nellie Sperry, brother-in-law, Dewey Sperry, sister-in-law, Sallie June Workman, and her father-in-law, Harry Dorton.

Dinah enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Heaven Dorton; three sons, Jonathan (Beth) Dorton, DJ (Sam) Vanhuss and Michael Dorton; sisters, Drema (Ralph) Workman, Margie (Bebo) Sperry and Darnell Sperry; brothers, Glen (Lisa) Workman, Delmer Workman, Jerry Wayne Workman and Creed Workman; grandchildren, Haley (Keith) Dorton, Josh Vance, Chace Dorton, David (Chloe) Vance, Nathaniel (Abbie) Hall, Colby (BB) Hall, Ethan (Summer) Smith, Alvin Hall, Allana Dorton, Joe Burgess, Dakoda Varney, Sarah Conley, Sydney Smith, Hayden Smith, Harley Vanhuss and Eli Vanhuss; great grandchildren, Everyx Jon Vance, Westin Timothy Hall and Baby girl Smith; her mother-in-law, Handy Dorton; brother-in-law, Rodger (Kera) Dorton.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bo Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Toppings Cemetery, Big Creek, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Keith, Chace, David, Nathaniel, Colby, Ethan, and Alvin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chace Dorton, David Vance and Amber Plogger.
