Dewayne Baisden, 61 of Ferrellsburg, WV, departed this life on May 13, 2024 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 7, 1963 in Harts, WV the son of Alice Baisden and the late Herbert Dempsey.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kate Baisden, aunt, Dicy, uncle, Sol, Bob and Sherman, special cousin, Clifton Mullins and his father and mother-in-law, Hobert Sr and Deloris Day.

Dewayne enjoyed taking his grandson on rides in his side by side, fishing, reminiscing and talking about his cars he had in the past, gardening and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife Alana Baisden; daughters, Lauren Ellis (Joshua Bailey) and Brittany (Austin) Childers; sisters, Bonita Gurney and Katherine Baisden; brother, Steve (Christy) Baisden; grandson, Jase “Hotrod” Bailey who was his pride and joy; uncles, Cush and Bill; cousin, Juilius Baisden; special niece and nephew, Timmy and Kaitlyn Baisden; a host of other nieces and nephews; he is also survived by, Mike Hines and his co-workers from B&M Repair, neighbors, Mary, Jeff and Darrick (Mr. VanNatter) and Randall (Mr. Kirk).

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Joe Triplett officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Austin Childers, Steve Baisden, Timmy Baisden, Jase Bailey, Darrick VanNatter, Joshua Bailey and Jeff Headley.
