Deborah J. Goodman, 70 of Greenback, TN formerly of Ethel, WV, departed this life on March 13, 2025.

She was born January 11, 1955 in Logan, WV the daughter of James Walter Hill Jr and Virginia Alma Walls Hill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, two sisters, Mary Hill Bartram and Rev. Judith Eplin, one brother, Danny Hill, three brothers-in-law, Paul Eplin, Ralph Crum and Rev. Leroy Maynard, one sister-in-law, Debbie Hill, one nephew, Jeff Peacock and one special canine friend, Oreo.

Deborah was a devoted Pastor's wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Deborah worked in the church alongside her husband. Together they taught us of the love of Jesus and the love of family and community.  She was a member of the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church of Greenback, TN.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband of 54 years, Rev. Bazzil Goodman; three daughters, Rebecca (Thomas) Dillon of Stollings, WV, Amy (Mark) Frye of Jeffery, WV and Gina (Tommy) Brinegar of Greenback, TN; nine grandchildren, Marci Frye, Thomas (Breanna) Dillon, Matthew (Clarissa) Dillon, Chris Dillon, Jonathan (Leann) Brinegar, Chase Brinegar, Jacob Frye, Julia George, Frank (Taylor) Hairiston; seven great-grandchildren, Mattie Dillon, Hayden Rainwater, Sophia Brinegar, Summer Brinegar, Wyatt Dillon, Isla Dillon and Hudson Hairiston; three brothers, Terry Hill of Neibert, WV, Johnny (Eloise) Hill of Kistler, and Jimmy (Karen) Hill of Man, WV; three sisters, Rev. Margie Maynard of Neibert, WV Deanna Crum of 3 Mile Curve and Joan Hill of Chicago, IL; along with a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Friends may gather with the family at Freeman Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.

Funeral services will commence at 11:00am, Monday, March 24, 2025 at the funeral home with Rev. James Vance and Johnny Faine officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Maynard and Ricky Peacock.
