Deadra Lou Hensley Obituary

Deadra Lou Hensley, 63 of Buck Fork, Harts, WV, departed this life on November 13, 2024 at her residence.


She was born November 26, 1960 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Opie Tomblin Sr and Minnie W. Tomblin (Sherman) Smith.


In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stonewall & Tema Adams Workman and Carlos & Inis Tomblin, sister, Penny Rogers, her father and mother-in-law, WJ & Rosa Jane Hensley and her brother-in-law, Gordon Tomblin.


Deadra enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church. She loved to sing for the Lord, her favorite song was “I've Got To Make It”. Deadra was an employee with the Postal Service for 40 years.


Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Hensley; three sons, Jeremy (Nikki) Hensley, Zachary (Tiffany) Hensley and Jacob Paul Hensley; two sisters, Carol (Gordon) Tomblin and Karen (John) Kucinski; two brothers, Opie (Greta) Tomblin Jr and Anthony “Tony” (Ada) Tomblin; one brother-in-law, Allen Rogers; three grandchildren, Elijah Hensley, Ameila Hensley and Levi Jay Hensley.


Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor JC Blair and Pastor Elbert Collins Jr officiating. Burial will follow at the WJ Hensley Cemetery, Harts, WV.


Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Zack Hensley, Jeremy Hensley, Jacob Hensley, Brian Dingess, David Bryant and Gordon Scott Tomblin.


Honorary pallbearers will be Opie Tomblin Jr and Tony Tomblin.


Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
