David P. Brewster Obituary
David P. Brewster, 84 of Harts, WV, went to his heavenly home on June 9, 2024 at CAMC General. He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, Alice Farley (Pete) Brewster who raised him; mother, Mary Anne (Harry) Casto; paternal grandparents, Jake (Lula) Fowler; his brothers, Robert Casto, Phillip Casto, Virgil Ball, Raymond Brown; one sister, Lois Casto Farley; one son-in-law, Michael Workman.
David was a veteran of Vietnam Era serving in U.S. Army from January 19, 1961- November 11, 1963, spending two years in Grafverner, Germany, was a proud servant of his savior Jesus Christ for 50 years, Reading his Bible through 73 times, a member of the Crawley Creek Church of God throughout the years, he was a sunday school superintend, a sunday school teacher, he loved his church family and spending time with them.
He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Brewster; his two daughters, Mary Brewster Workman and Davina (Tony) Purkey of Chapmanville; three sons, Lonnie Brewster, Danny (Robin) Brewster of Point Marion, PA, and David (Mary) Brewster of Chapmanville; a special granddaughter that he helped raise, Hayley Brooke Brewster; one sister, Alice (Ronald) Wilson; two sister-in-laws, Oma Ball of Chapmanville and Nancy Kay Casto of Harts, WV; one brother-in-law, Roger Collins of Hewitt; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and scores nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, June 14, 2024 at Crawley Creek Church of God with Rev. Vivie Marcum and Kennith Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Alice Farley Cemetery, Rockhouse road, Harts, WV.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Crawley Creek Church of God at Chapmanville, WV.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
